Track colors

Fine Fader mode
Instant precision volume control. Hold Shift and move a fader with 8× more resolution.
Hot locations
Instantly focus the surface to track types such as VCA, MIDI, or Master Faders. Assign the hot location buttons to memory locations set up for any workflow you need.
One-button plug-in focus
Focusing a plug-in to your controller should be simple, not five screens of navigation. Press Select to focus a track insert; press it again for the next insert.
Pan mode display
Each strip shows Pan for mono tracks, Pan L and Pan Rfor the left and right channels of stereo tracks, and nothing for tracks that can't be panned.
Faders that tell the truth
Pro Tools®fader volume now lines up exactly with the FaderPort's dB markings. When your fader sits at 0, −5, or −10 dB on the surface, that's the exact value in Pro Tools®— the accuracy of a high-end console. Stock, 0 dB on the FaderPort is really −1.0 dB, −5 is −8.5, and −10 is −14.5.

Sends, plug-ins, and automation
Without the clutter or cost of a massive console.
Sends editing
Hit the Sends button and every fader becomes a send level control for sends A through E across all your tracks at once. The displays show which reverb, delay, or aux send you're controlling, with pre-fader sends highlighted.
Mute a send with the Mute button, and toggle pre/post-fader with Shift + Select. The Pan/Param encoder pans stereo sends, and on stereo tracks the Pan button switches between the left and right channels.
Plug-in editing
Stock, editing a plug-in takes many button presses and page changes, stops at inserts A–E, and gives you four fader and four button parameters. V-Control Pro makes it fast on any insert A–J, with eight fader and eight button parameters per page.
On FaderPort 16, plug-in editing runs in Split mode: the left eight strips stay fully functional for volume, pan, and sends while the right eight edit the plug-in.
Fast plug-in navigation
Press Select to move to a track, and press it again to step to the next insert. Show/hide, bypass, and compare work on any insert A–J, and Shift + Bypass toggles bypass for every plug-in on the track.
Pro automation
Each track's Select button color shows its automation mode and write status, and the dedicated Off, Read, Write, Touch, Latch, and Trim buttons are color-coded. Automate with confidence and without context switching.
Shift + F8 suspends automation. Shift + left arrow, right arrow, or encoder push writes automation to start, end, or all.

Track displays
Seven-character track names instead of four, plus numerical volume and pan on every strip.
10-bit, accurate faders
10-bit fader messages instead of 9-bit, with the fader scale calibrated to Pro Tools®'s volume markings.
Volume and pan reset
Shift + tap a fader resets it to 0 dB. Shift + Select centers the pan.
All Solo Clear
Stock, the FaderPort shows and clears solo only for the tracks in its current bank. V-Control Pro does it for the whole session.
Redo
Stock HUI gives you Undo but no Redo. V-Control Pro adds Redo.
Group suspend
Suspend groups from the surface with the Link button.
Dialog Cancel / OK
When Pro Tools® opens a dialog — adding a memory location, say — the Prev and Next buttons blink. Press Prev to cancel or Next to OK, without reaching for the mouse.
Improved zoom
The wheel encoder adds vertical zoom in the Edit window, and Prev / Next handle horizontal zoom.
